Hi everyone!!! Our first day so far has been good. We had to get up bright and early at 6:00 and be ready for breakfast at 6:30. My chore team (Anthony, Ian, Darci, Austin, and Mr. Stetson) was on cleanup duty after. Right after breakfast we were in the vans by 7:30 off to our 1 of 2 adventures! We arrived at Scott Appalachian Industry, a place where special needs adults have a place to work. We all gathered into the warehouse and saw some people scattered at tables working on making these ribbons type things. We all spread out and tried to find people to help make them and just to help them have a friend for the morning. I met a nice lady named Carol! She would not stop smiling and absolutely loved us being there! Also there was a man walking around stealing Anthony and Mr. Buzby's nose, arms, legs, and really anything he could take!!!! It was so funny to watch! Shortly after, Mr. Stetson asked me and Rachael if we could play some music. Luckily we brought our ukulele and Guitar! Even Stetson brought his box drum! When we started playing, Rachael and I got close to a man named Scott. He absolutely LOVED music. Anything country was what made him smile! We played some praise and songs and had a great time with him! He had his own guitar but he forgot it at home. He was smiling and having a great time which made me feel awesome:) However he could not stop stressing to Rachael and I that we NEEDED to tap our feet while playing haha or else we would lose the beat. We then had a band formed with Scott and he called us the Jersey Band!! Overall going to SAI was so awesome and a great experience! Meeting all these people was amazing and just so nice to see. I will never forget meeting Carol, Scott, or any of the people there. God is good all the time. Like Scott told me... "You gotta have faith, you can't give up." – Julie, 4th Year
